We have some exciting news for you. For the past several months, board members from Ocean State Soccer and North Kingstown Soccer have been exploring the possibility of merging. After careful consideration, we are excited to share that our organizations will be uniting to create a more comprehensive club that will provide opportunities to further advance the goals and overall experiences of our players. While there is still much to be done, we have worked diligently to address legal and financial concerns, balanced representation between the formerly separate associations, and ensure that the mission of the unified organization is at the forefront of our endeavor. Weighing the pros and cons of merging, we have come to the consensus that merging our two clubs would benefit everyone involved and the community as a whole.

As one club, united under the name Ocean State North Kingstown United, our valued members will have access to a larger, more diverse club, which will be better positioned to serve players of all skill levels from the ages of three to nineteen.

We believe that in combining the resources of our two clubs into one United organization we will be able to provide greater opportunities for player development at all age and participation levels. Our combined resources will enable us to remain focused on personal growth both on and off the field, and establish a pathway for soccer play at the recreational, competitive, and premier levels.

Here are a few of the many positive results we expect from the merger.

  • Increased access to outdoor fields and indoor training space through a combined facility use.
  • Community-wide support for Father's Day Tournament and Summer Camps.
  • Greater number of neighbors and classmates playing on the same team.
  • Drawing from a larger pool of players translates to better placement at an appropriate skill level for improved player development.
  • Improved quality of the program through the availability of additional resources both on and off the field.
  • Pooled resources will also strengthen our referee program.
  • More focused relationships with our community and sponsors, no longer split between two organizations.

Thank you for your continued support. We hope you're as excited as we are for our new, united club and our future together.
